Access your Grafana data

Before you begin: Your container must already be deployed and exposing the required metrics. See the Metrics endpointClosed A URL which is configured to interact with a server in a specific way. section in Building your container and Phase 3 in Validating and deploying your container.

Index provides a hosted Grafana instance so you can view the metrics your container emits. This topic covers how to request access, log in for the first time, and view your data.

Request access

Contact your Index Representative to request Grafana access for your account. Provide the email address of everyone at your organization who needs access; only these addresses are granted access at sign-in.

Log in for the first time

To log in to Grafana for the first time:

  1. Go to rtd-grafana.indexexchange.com.

  2. Enter your Index account email at the Cloudflare validation prompt. This confirms your identity before you reach Grafana itself. You receive an email with a two-factor authentication code; enter it to continue.

  3. On the Grafana sign-in page, click Sign in with Keycloak-OAuth at the bottom.

  4. Log in to the (missing or bad snippet) to authenticate.

Once you complete these steps, you have access to your data.

View your metrics

No dashboards are pre-created for you. To see your data:

  1. Open the Grafana menu in the top left.

  2. Go to DrilldownMetricsLet's Start.

Grafana pre-populates graphs of all the data your container is emitting.

Note: If your dashboard is empty or shows no data, confirm your container is exposing the required metrics correctly.
