How segment targeting works
If you have segments that you want to target in your Marketplace Packages, you can work with your Index Representative to add these segments to your Marketplace account. After they are added to your Marketplace, you will be able to target them in your Marketplace Packages and reach those specific audiences.
To include segments in targeting, you build segment sets, where each set includes the segments that you want to combine using an "or" rule. When multiple segment sets are added, an "and" logic is applied between them. You can target up to four segment sets and exclude one segment set from targeting in a deal A private auction that allows publishers to offer specific inventory directly to selected buyers identified by a deal ID. Terms are negotiated and are agreed upon before the auction occurs.. You can include up to 50 segments, divided among all of the sets.
Single segment set inclusion example
The following example shows segment targeting where one segment set is being targeted in a deal. A deal will activate when a user is identified as being part of the GlutenFree OR DiningOut segment.
Multiple segment sets inclusion example
The following example shows segment targeting where two segment sets are being targeted in a deal. A deal will activate when a user is identified as being part of the DiningOut, GlutenFree, OR Paleo segment AND when they are also a part of the Diet and Fitness segment. So, both segment set rules must apply and the audience is narrowed down from the example above.
Multiple segment sets inclusion and exclusion example
The following example shows segment targeting where three segment sets are being targeted in a deal and one segment set is being excluded from being targeted. A deal will activate when a user is identified as being part of the GlutenFree, OR Paleo audience AND when they are also a part of the HealthyEating audience but NOT a part of the Vegetarian OR Baking segment.
