Find specific segments

Search and filter to find specific segments. You can filter by status, permissions, or attributes such as category and geography.

  1. Enter your email address and password to log in to the Index UI The Index UI at app.indexexchange.com that allows you to manage integration settings, such as inventory, campaign, and deal settings. at app.indexexchange.com.

  2. Go to Segments.
  3. In the search bar, search for the segment by name or ID.
  4. To show or hide columns, click COLUMNS. You can sort most columns on the Segments page.

    Column NameDescription

    Status

    The status of the segment. Segments can either be Active or Paused.

    Name

    The name of the segment as assigned by the data distributor.

    Segment ID

    The external segment ID as assigned by the data distributor.

    Index Segment ID

    The Index-generated segment ID.

    Permissions

    The partners that can see and use this segment. Possible values are:

    • Custom: Specific partners can see and use this segment. Or, if no partners have been selected, the segment is private.
    • Public: All partners can see and use this segment.

    Standard Fee (CPM Cost Per Thousand (CPM). A pricing structure for buying impressions and is the cost of serving an advertisement 1,000 times. Also known as Cost Per Mille (where M represents 1,000 in Roman numerals) or Cents Per Mille.)

    The standard fee for this segment in CPM, which is the global price for the segment.

    Note: A standard fee is required if the segment is set to public permissions, but is optional if the segment is set to custom permissions.

    Audience Size

    The estimated size of the segment. Depending on how the segment was built, this may represent users, devices, or available inventory.

    Categories

    The content or audience categories that best describe the segment.

    Channel Types

    The media environments where the segment can be activated.

    Geographies

    The geographical markets where the segment's data is sourced from.

  5. To narrow your results, click FILTERS and complete the following steps:
    1. In the Columns drop-down list, select one of the following filters:

      Status

      The status of the segment. Segments can either be Active or Paused.

      Permissions

      The partners that can see and use this segment. Possible values are:

      • Custom: Specific partners can see and use this segment. Or, if no partners have been selected, the segment is private.
      • Public: All partners can see and use this segment.

      Audience Size

      The estimated scale of the segment. Depending on how the segment was built, this may represent users, devices, or available inventory.

      Categories

      The content or audience categories that best the segment, for example, Demographic for segments based on user attributes such as age, gender, or income, or Purchase & Intent for segments based on shopping behavior or purchase intent.

      Channel Types

      The media environments where the segments can be activated, for example, Mobile App and OTT Over-the-top (OTT). The delivery of TV-like content from a video provider over the internet. OTT typically refers to video content that is long-form, professionally-produced, and living room-quality video content, which can be consumed on any type of device, including desktop, laptop, and smartphone. OTT bypasses cable, broadcast and satellite television platforms that traditionally act as a controller or distributor of such content./CTV Connected TV (CTV). A TV set that receives video content from the internet through a smart TV operating system, streaming device, or game console..

      Geographies

      The geographies where the segment data was sourced from, for example, Americas — USA or Americas — Canada.

    2. In the Operator drop-down list, select the filtering logic you want to use. Your options depend on the value selected in the Columns drop-down list.

      Excludes segments that match the value in the Value field.

      Includes segments that match one or more values in the Value field.

      Includes segments that match the value in the Value field.

      Excludes segments that match the value in the Value field.

      Includes segments that exceed the value in the Value field.

      >=

      Includes segments that exceed or equal the value in the Value field.

      <

      Includes segments that fall below the value in the Value field.

      <=

      Includes segments that fall below or equal the value in the Value field.

    3. In the Value field, enter a value or select one or more values from the drop-down list.

    4. To combine multiple filters, click + ADD FILTER and repeat steps a-c.
    5. Select AND to find segments that match all filters, or OR to find segments that match at least one filter.

      Note: You can only apply one operator at a time to all filters.

  6. To download the filtered data, click DOWNLOAD.
