Content group definitions

The table below lists Index's content groups. Publishers can block ad campaigns that contain content associated with any of these groups from appearing on their property A point of presence such as a website, social media account, or blog on the web that is an asset of an entity such as an individual or corporation and used for the purpose of representing a brand, person or other identity..

Content Group Definition

Adult Subject

Advertises a product or service that is meant for a mature (18+) audience. For example, STI treatment, birth control products and services, or plastic surgery.

Language

Includes display text or audio in a specific language.

LGBT

Advertises a product or service that is targeting the LGBTQ+ community.

Multiple Brands

Promotes a product or service under a co-branded partnership or advertises a sponsorship product, service or event with the sponsored brands displayed on the ad or its landing page.

Religious

Advertises a product or service that is considered explicit, racy, or overtly suggestive, or includes profanity.

Retail Linked Ads

Links to a specific large retailer selling the item advertised. For example, the ad advertises dog food, and links to the brand of dog food sold on Amazon. Available blocks for this category include:

  • Amazon;

  • Instacart;

  • Target;

  • Walgreens;
  • Walmart; or

  • Other (retail brand, not listed above).

Weapons/Violence Depicts or mentions weapons or firearms, or displays graphic fictional violence.
