Content group definitions

The following tables define how content groups are classified and which ones you may want to block on your site.

Images, copy or the creative in general

Content Group Definition
Images/creative - Mature The creative or its landing page includes images that may be either offensive or seen as triggers to a user. This content group also includes the use of swear words.
Images/creative - Religious The creative or its landing page includes religious content or images.
Risque (Intended for Adults) The creative advertises a product or service that is considered racy or suggestive.
Images/creative - Weapons/Violence The creative or its landing page depicts or mentions guns or any other sort of violence.
Language/copy - Ad tech content The creative advertises a company or product in the online advertising or advertising technology industries.
Language/copy - Adult Subject The creative advertises a product or service that is meant for an older audience.
Language/copy - LGBT The creative advertises a product or service that is targeting the LGBT+ community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender).
Language/copy - Non-FDA pharma The creative advertises pharmaceutical products that are not approved by the FDA (Federal Drug Association), as identified on the landing page. This category applies to US campaigns only.
Olympics The creative advertises content about the Olympic games.

Misleading or disruptive creatives

Content Group Definition
Images/creative - Text-based The creative appears as though it is part of the website on which it is displayed. This type of creative typically consists of all text or hyperlinks.
App Store Landing Pages The creative's landing page opens the app store.
Language/copy - Survey The creative asks the user to complete a survey.
Multi-brand (Unrelated) The creative leads to more than one unrelated landing page.

Language/copy - Chinese The creative displays text in the Chinese language.
Language/copy - English The creative displays text in the English language.
Language/copy - French The creative displays text in the French language.
Language/copy - German The creative displays text in the German language.
Language/copy - Italian The creative displays text in the Italian language.
Language/copy - Japanese The creative displays text in the Japanese language.
Language/copy - Korean The creative displays text in the Korean language.
Language/copy - Other language The creative displays text in languages that are not listed as part of the language content groups.
Language/copy - Polish The creative displays text in the Polish language.
Language/copy - Russian The creative displays text in the Russian language.
Language/copy - Spanish The creative displays text in the Spanish language.

Ad specs or traits of the creative

Content Group Definition
Images/creative - Animated The creative is animated.
Images/creative - Non-Animated The creative is static and is not animated in any way.
Specs - Audio (User Initiated) The creative includes user-initiated audio.
Specs - Audio (Auto) The creative includes audio that automatically begins once the creative is loaded.
Specs - Borderless The creative has a white background without a border.

Specs - File size

The creative surpasses 4MB of network data usage, 15 seconds of CPU usage in a 30 second period, or 60 seconds of total CPU usage.

Specs - Looping/animation The creative features a looping animation, or an animation that loops longer than the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) standard looping length.
Specs - Multiple brands/industry The creative promotes more than two brands or industries concurrently. This may also apply to campaigns that use Facebook, Twitter, or another landing page that is associated with the brand, but is not the brand's own website.
Specs - No/limited branding The creative is not branded with the actual company or product being advertised.
Non-SSL The creative has been identified as not SSL compliant.
Specs - Tier 2 ad server The creative calls domains that appear to be safe but has not yet been internally whitelisted by our platform.

Video

Content Group Definition
Images/creative - Video Linear Ads A VAST creative that displays one video without any companion ads or non-linear content.
Images/creative - Video Non-Linear Ads A VAST creative that displays an advertisement over the video content.
Video Mutable The creative contains a video that can be muted.
Video No Volume control The creative contains a video with audio volumethat cannot be adjusted.
Video Non-Mutable The creative contains a video that cannot be muted.
Video Non-Skippable The creative contains a video that cannot be skipped.
Video Skippable The creative contains a video that can be skipped.
Video Volume Control The creative contains a video with audio volume that can be adjusted.

Other

Content Group Definition
RTB - Open Open market creative.
RTB - Private Private market creative.
No Human Review The creative has been approved without a review by a person on our Bid Registration team.
In App Purchase The creative advertises an add-on for an app, and its landing page is the app store.
Flash (Inactive) Content Group automatically added based on scan done behind scenes.
In-ad (with native elements) Ads that match the form of the platform that they appear in.

Images/creative - Simulated OS This content category is no longer in use.
Specs - No privacy policy This content category is no longer in use.
