Digital Services Act (DSA) support

To support the new Digital Services Act (DSA), Index has updated our policy documentation. The DSA requires that users have real-time access to information about ads shown to them on an online platform, such as the identity of the advertiser.

Index is not directly captured by the DSA but we support publishers who are implementing IAB's DSA Solution. For more information about the privacy regulations we support, see Policy and regulations.

We have also added new DSA and Transparency OpenRTB objects. For more information about these objects, see List of supported bid request fields for sellers.

Update to our Protected Audience API testing guidance

As expected, building support for Protected Audiences involves many updates on the exchange.

We decided to prioritize some of the larger features for an early 2024 phase, while testing media spend and observing the early and ongoing growth of participants.

We have updated our Protected Audience API testing guidance with the following temporary testing limitations. Both issues are currently being worked on and we expect them to be updated soon. This API is in its early stage and we expect mostly test creatives from DSPs and limited demand.

  • Ad quality blocks are not being enforced on Protected Audience API bids. Many of the bids are test bids with test creatives from DSPs.
  • The publisher to Index revenue share value is always set to 80% to the publisher and 20% to Index.

For more information about the Protected Audience API, see Receive Protected Audience API demand from Index using Prebid.js.
