Updated placement targeting values

Placement targeting values in deals now use the following OpenRTB 2.6 plcmt field values instead of the deprecated OpenRTB placement field values:

  • Instream: Video ads that play before, during, or after streaming video content. Auto-plays with sound and is the main content on the page.

  • Accompanying content: Video ads tied to video within or near other content. Plays on scroll and may float as you scroll.

  • Interstitial: Video ads that are played without video content and can't be scrolled out of view. Often in-app or in slide shows.

  • No content/standalone: Video ads that are played without streaming video content. Appears in feeds, slide shows, or as sticky units.

All active deals that are currently targeting placements have been updated to target the new values. If you have any questions, contact your Index Representative.

Removing unused fields in Client Audit Logs (CAL), Reports in the Index UI, and the Reporting API

On April 24, 2025, Index is deprecating the Marketplace Index Fee and Marketplace Index Fee (%) fields from the Client Audit Logs (CAL), Reports in the Index UI, and the Reporting API.

The feature to apply the Index fee at the Marketplace level instead of the publisher level has never been used. We are deprecating this functionality while maintaining the fields in existing reports for backwards compatibility.

For more information about available fields, see Data dictionary.
