Tips for reducing discrepancies between the number of counted impressions
If you are seeing inconsistent numbers for how impressions are counted between you and Index Exchange (Index), refer to the tips below to help you reduce these discrepancies:
Make sure that your reporting data is in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). |
Make sure that you are comparing your gross revenue to the Index reporting metric |
Make sure that you are reporting in USD and no other currency. |
Make sure that you send valid billing notifications to Index within the allowed TTL (time to live). For more information see, How Index counts impressions. If you send billing notifications after the allowed TTL, you may be counting impressions that Index is not counting. |
Make sure that you are counting impressions accurately for various formats such as web, mobile app, video, and native. We recommend using the MRC guidelines. For more information about best practices, see How Index counts impressions. |
Make sure you support the industry standard method of counting mobile app banner impressions, Open Measurement Interface Definition (OMID). For more information about supporting OMID, see Measuring impressions with OMID. |
