Targeting topics from Google's Topics API in deals (Alpha)
Google's Topics API provides the functionality to include interest-based user information in bid requests using something called topics when publishers are integrated with Index Exchange (Index) using Prebid.js An open-source library for publishers to implement header bidding on their websites and manage multiple header bidding partners. version 8.9.0 or later. These topics will supplement other contextual signals, such as first-party-data, and can be combined to help find an appropriate advertisement for your site’s visitors without the use of cookies in Chrome. We can currently target these topics of interest in deals as custom key values. You can see a complete list of these topics of interest in Google's taxonomy list.
If you would like to participate in the alpha program to be able to target topics in your deals, contact your Index Representative. After topics targeting is enabled for your account, topics can be included or excluded from deal A private auction that allows publishers to offer specific inventory directly to selected buyers identified by a deal ID. Terms are negotiated and are agreed upon before the auction occurs. targeting in the custom key values section using the topics.indexexchange.com key.
