Monetizing video for mobile apps

OpenRTB

If you have in-house ad serving technology or use a third party vendor that’s capable of soliciting video demand through server-to-server requests, you can send bid requests to Index using OpenRTB. When sending bid requests for video, make sure you specify the following attributes in the video object:

• For instream:
  • linearity is 1.
  • placement is 1. We recommend that you use the below plcmt field instead of the placement field.
  • plcmt is 1. For more information about the recommended plcmt values, see Sending the plcmt field in OpenRTB bid requests.
  • playbackmethod is 1, 3, 4, or 5.
• For Accompanying content:
  • linearity is 1.
  • plcmt is 2. For more information about the recommended plcmt values, see Sending the plcmt field in OpenRTB bid requests.
  • playbackmethod is 6.
• For Interstitial:
  • linearity is 1 or 2.
  • plcmt is 3. For more information about the recommended plcmt values, see Sending the plcmt field in OpenRTB bid requests.
  • playbackmethod is 6 or2.
• For Standalone:
  • linearity is 1.
  • plcmt is 4. For more information about the recommended plcmt values, see Sending the plcmt field in OpenRTB bid requests.
  • playbackmethod is 6 or 2.
• For rewarded:

  • Set the rewarded field to 1 in the video extension object and specify the following attributes in the video object:

    • skip is false

    • linearity is 1

  • Specify the rwdd field in the imp object.
