Podded video in OpenRTB

Index has released support for structured video pods and dynamic video pods in OpenRTB for publishers in Beta. Publishers can now send the following fields in OpenRTB bid requests to Index:

  • video.podid

  • video.maxseq

  • video.poddur

Publishers may receive the following field in OpenRTB bid responses from Index:

  • bid.dur

Support for Google's Topics API

The Topics API is an interest-based advertising API available on Chrome for banner ads, which allows topics information to be sent in bid requests to DSPs. The Topics API is available in Prebid.js version 8.9.0 or later. Flex Video for web banner (Alpha)

Flex Video is a feature that allows Index to increase monetization of your web banner supply by serving a winning video ad in a banner ad slot. It allows publishers with web banner supply to access Index's video demand. Flex Video is available for approved media owners with Prebid.js integrations and for ad sizes of 300x250 who pass the GPID. Support for Google's Protected Audience API

The Protected Audience API (formerly known as FLEDGE) is an in-browser API that is a part of the Privacy Sandbox initiative. This API allows DSPs to curate and target interest groups without relying on third-party cookies, while protecting users from cross-site tracking. Publishers using Prebid.js and Google Ad Manager as the ad server, can enable the fledgeForGpt module to receive Protected Audience API demand from Index. Deal Activity Tab

Index has released the Deal Activity Tab in the Index UI for Marketplace Partners. You can use the Deal Activity Tab to get a quick, high-level understanding of your deal activity and to monitor certain aspects of your overall deal health, such as:

  • If your campaigns are being blocked

  • The campaigns that are bidding on your deals

  • If your deal targeting settings are limiting your ad opportunities.

July 6, 2023 Deal retention policy Aligned with Index Exchange's effort to send quality and efficient traffic to DSPs, deals with no recent activity will only be passed to DSPs a small percentage of the time. If activity is detected on a deal, the deal will become fully active again within a few hours.

OpenRTB video.plcmt field

Index now supports the OpenRTB video.plcmt field in bid requests. You can specify the placement type for the video impression by sending the plcmt field in the video object. This field allows DSPs to make informed decisions when bidding. For more information about this field, see List of supported OpenRTB bid request fields for sellers.

We have also updated our reporting products so that you can view reporting data for the new placement types. For more information, see the video_placement_type field in our Data dictionary.

Support for video.plcmt in Index’s Prebid.js adapter

Index now supports the video.plcmt field in accordance with the updated IAB Digital Video Guidelines. You can specify the placement type for the ad by sending the plcmt field in your video ad units. This field allows DSPs to make informed decisions when bidding. For more information about bid request parameters, see our adapter documentation Bid request parameters on the Prebid website.

The Ad unit and Format targeting options have been removed and you can now target specific banner sizes using the Formats and sizes targeting option when creating your deals. If you previously had any deals that used Ad unit and Format targeting, you don't need to do anything to keep this targeting active. This targeting has been automatically moved to Formats and sizes for you.
